Still in Brisbane and visiting the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC).
QAIHC is a leadership and policy organisation representing all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations (ATSICCHO) in Queensland at both a state and national level. QAIHC members are dedicated to achieving improved Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes in Queensland through the delivery of comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary health care.
QAIHC’s role is to support these members by building capacity and capability and through policy and research related activities that gather evidence to improve public policy and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health investment in Queensland. These activities are overseen by a number of special taskforces, including:
- leadership development;
- workforce development;
- standards and quality;
- technology;
- primary health care;
- health workforce;
- health funding; and
- health systems.
