Walk the Talk Visits Wuchopperen Health Service

A little ways up the road and I’m visiting Wuchopperen Health Service.

Wuchopperen Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) providing comprehensive primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Cairns. They provide a range of health services including general medical, allied health including psychology, exercise physiology, optometry, audiology, dietetics and diabetes education, women’s, children’s and maternal health and family wellbeing service including a Children and Family Centre which provides integrated services for early childhood education and care, family and parenting support for mums and dads, and child and maternal health.

Wuchopperen Health Service also provides a health support system which includes home support for people over 55 needing help with daily tasks, access to medical and allied health services and medical aids, client transport, and care coordination for chronic diseases.

If you’re an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in Cairns and need assistance with your health, look up Wuchopperen Health Service through their website to see what they can offer you: https://www.wuchopperen.org.au/

I’m heading up into the rainforest for my next stop!
