I’ve made it to Toowoomba and I’ve got a couple of stops while I’m here. The first is at Goolburri Health Advancement Company to learn what they’re all about.
Goolburri Aboriginal Health Advancement Company is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service providing a range of medical and allied health and associated services to Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous peoples in the Toowoomba, Darling Downs and South West Region of Queensland. Aside from general practice, oral health and extensive allied health services, Goolburri offer home and community care, family wellbeing, aged care services and numeracy and literacy support amongst others.
One of Goolburri’s prominent messages is their commitment to making sure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples receive services in a culturally safe environment and maintain control of their own health and well-being.
