Walk the Talk Visits the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service – Mackay

ade it to Mackay and stopping in at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS).

ATSICHS Mackay provides holistic health care to raise the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Mackay area. Their services includes general practice medical, child and maternal health, chronic disease programs including diabetes education and treatment and Healthy for Life exercise and healthy eating services, outreach services, and visiting specialists including endocrinologists, dieticians, diabetes educators and optometrists. They also work in partnership with regional community and other health service providers to ensure services are culturally appropriate and accessible for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

ATSICHS Mackay also provides a range of other services, including mens and womens groups, through their YuwiYumba cultural hub.
