Walk the Talk Calls in to Helem Yumba Healing Place

Quick stride across the street and I’m at the Helem Yumba Healing Place.

Helem Yumba provides a range of therapeutic supports to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Rockhampton, Mount Morgan and Woorabinda. They work with individuals, couples, families and community groups to address violence and trauma with a view to facilitating harmony, safety and wellbeing. They combine their support services, such as counselling and womens and mens groups with cultural healing programs and activities to strengthen the capacity of families to make decisions that bring about positive changes and quality outcomes for all family members, especially for their young people and children.

Helem Yumba offers programs and services specifically targeted towards women and men, recognising the specific needs each has in learning to recognise and facilitate change in their lives. They also run school programs and Elder gatherings, as a means of addressing family violence across the lifespan.

If you think you or someone you know would benefit from the services Helem Yumba can offer, or if you’d just like to know more, visit their website for more information: https://www.cqhealing.com.au/

One last stop in town and then moving up north a bit.
